Kenneth F. Yousey, age 82, of 78 Will Rogers Drive, Saranac Lake died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Crogan, New York on December 13, 1925, he was the son of Peter and Lola (Wolf) Yousey. He married Marilyn Miner of Mayfield, New York in 1954
Kenneth was employed as a land surveyor for the Department of Environmental Conservation in Ray Brook for 41 years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking, reading and spending time with his family. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He is a charter member of the Wild Center Natural History Museum in Tupper Lake and was a member of the Residence Committee to Protect Adirondacks.
He is survived by four children Kent Yousey and his wife Ellen Peer Yousey of Saranac Lake, NY, Tina Tyler and her husband Hubert of Vermontville, NY, Robin Oliver and her husband Allen of Vermontville, NY, and Thad Yousey of Ava, NY, 8 Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers Virginia Noftsier, Loretta Briggs, and Alethea Belknap, Robert Yousey, LeRoy "Ted" Yousey, James Yousey and Donald Yousey.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Belfort, NY at a later date..
