Edward J. Woulf died on Aug 11th , 2009, suddenly of natural causes.
Born July 7th, 1927 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Orel and Mary Woulf of Tupper Lake.
Mr. Woulf attended local schools and graduated from Tupper Lake High School, where he was a three letter athlete. He then served in the U.S. Navy as part of the occupation forces in Japan.
On Sept 27th 1948 he and the former Theresa Bashant were married at Holy Name Church by Father Finnegan.
After being employed for several years with the railroad and for Leo Sarazen, he joined partnership with Don LaValley, in 1951 known as LaValley & Woulf. In 1972 he bought out Don LaValley’s interest in the partnership.
In 1976 he sold out to the Augsbury Corporation of Ogdensburg.
In 1960 he started and built and operated the Down Town Trailer Park with his wife Theresa.
He was a former member of the Tupper Lake Rotary Club, and had been a long time member of the Moose. He was also a long time member of the K of C and past Grand knight. He was a former trustee of Holy Name Church as well as a former Village Trustee for four years. He was Chairman of one of the committee’s to save Sunmount.
He was a Charter Member of the Tupper Lake Medical Center.
He was a lifelong Tupper Lake resident, and in later years spent his winters in Jensen Beach Florida.
Survivors include his wife Theresa, one son Douglas Woulf of Kissimmee, Florida, his wife Tina and three step children Tim, Tony, and Christina Mazotta.. Daughter Patti Amell and her husband Tom, from Tupper Lake, their children, Shaun and Sarah Ellis, Amanda, Kyle, and Kelsie Amell. Daughter Sheila Larkin and her husband Jim, from Tupper Lake, their children, Tim and his wife Cindy, and Shawn and his wife Jane Larkin, from Tupper Lake, Kelly Larkin Beasley and husband Claude, Lynn Titterington, and husband Sam, from Houston Texas, and their families; Thomas Larkin, from Tupper Lake, Edward and wife Molly Larkin, Karilyn and husband Josh Lesperance and Mary Larkin from Albany,and Jean Larkin, from Tupper Lake. Cousins, Bob and Helen Woulf, Yvette Gulf oil, and Irene Woulf all from Syracuse.
Calling hours at Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday Aug 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name church at 1pm Friday the 14th.
Burial will follow with full military honors at Holy Name Cemetery.
