TUPPER LAKE- William (Bill) P. Williams, 62, of Tupper Lake, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 8, 2011 at his home. Born December 27, 1948 in Utica, he was the son of Lloyd and Leone (Kelly) Williams. Mr. Williams graduated from Tupper Lake high school and was previously married to Carol (Sauve) Williams, who passed away earlier this year. He has spent the past 25 years with his life companion, Gloria Gravlin. He proudly served in the U.S. Army until retiring in December 2008. He also worked at Sunmount DDSO until he retired in 2005. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, and in his early years took great pride in coaching many young, local, hockey players. Mr. Williams was known by many of his extended family members as “Poppa Bill” or “Uncle Bill”. A devoted father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his life companion, Gloria Gravlin; 3 sons with his former wife Carol: John and his wife Andrea of Lancaster, PA., Chris and his wife Karla of Whitesboro, NY., and David of Tupper Lake; grandchildren: Whitney, Lauren, Madyson, Taylor, Christopher, Ashley, Tara, Megan, Carter, and his great-grandson Carson; his brother Allen and his wife Dede of Bellingham, MA., and two sisters: Barbara Russell of North Richland Hills, TX., and Elizabeth Williams of Tupper Lake. He was pre-deceased by his parents. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 16, from 12 noon until 2 pm at the Stuart-Fortune Keough Funeral Home.
