Beatrice Mary Wheeler 92 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Vermontville on May 12, 2013.
She was born on June 11, 1920 in Brasher Falls, NY. Married to George Wheeler on May 3, 1942 in Malone NY he predeceased her on August 15, 1966.
In her younger years Beatrice loved to go to BINGO, bullhead fishing, and the casino.
Survivors include two daughters Elizabeth (Betty) Sauvie of Vermontville and Julia LaMora and her husband Michel of Lake Placid. 4 grandchildren Brenda Sauvie of Lake Placid, Joy Gonyea and her husband Richard of Vermontville, John LaMora and his wife Rene’ of Tupper Lake, Michel Lamora II of Saranac Lake, 7 great-grandchildren, Kenneth (KJ) Martell of Tempa Florida, Bethany Hogan and her husband Josh of Chatam , Julia-Anne LaMora of Lake Placid, Savannah Cramer of Tupper Lake Brandon and Danielle Gonyea of Vermontville, Gavin Hunter of Bloomingdale 3 Great-great grandchildren MaKayla and Noah Hogan of Chatam, and Emma Allen of Lake Placid, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and especially her nephew Earl who would come and visit her often. She was predeceased by one granddaughter Joy, 2 brothers, and Willard and Millard Dashnaw.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00PM to 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday May 16, 2013 at St. Paul’s Church in Bloomingdale with Rev. Bill Muench officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone.
