David Watts

David A. Watts, age 52, of 8 Park Ave., Saranac Lake, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at his home.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 17, 1958, he was the son of Richard and Martha (Gantz) Watts. He married Martha E. Lang on February 11, 2000 at the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Ice Palace.

David had been a resident of Saranac Lake since 1995 coming from Canandaigua, New York. He had been employed at various stores in the area including Stuart's, Lilly Roses and most recently Price Chopper. David was very active with the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival for over 10 years, is a past president of the Saranac Lake Lions Club and had served on the Paul Smiths College Alumni Board of Directors.

He is survived by his wife Martha Watts of Saranac Lake, NY, one brother Michael Watts of Canandaigua, NY, and his Uncle A. Graham Watts of Amelia Island, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his sister Rebecca Watts Poli.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday June 17, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake, with Rev. Joanne White officiating. Burial will take place at the Coye Cemetery in the Town of South Bristol, NY.
