Joanne Voudren

JoAnne Voudren, age 76, of Lake Clear, NY passed away at her home under the care of High Peaks Hospice on Monday September 18, 2023 with her family and close friends by her side.

JoAnne was born at on April 12, 1947 in Saranac Lake, NY the daughter of Richard and Mildred (Moody) Chabot. She married the love of her life Wayne Voudren on December 27, 1973 in Lake Clear, NY.

JoAnne grew up in Saranac Lake where her and Wayne raised their two children Ricky and Heather. She worked as the Village of Saranac Lake Police Clerk for many years until her retirement. When not working, she and Wayne loved to ride their Harley Davidson Motorcycle traveling countless miles around the Northeast and beyond. JoAnne loved traveling and when not on the road, she enjoyed reading and she especially enjoyed spending countless hours with her grandchildren. JoAnne was a member of St. Bernard’s Church and would often be seen greeting parishioners as they entered the church.

JoAnne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wayne; her daughter Heather (Dan) Kearns; her grandchildren: Abigail and Zachary (Miranda) and her great grandchildren: Nichols and Adleigh. JoAnne is also survived by her sisters: Marian Hurlburt and Linda (Bob) Jones; her brothers: Kenneth, Richard and Michael (Debbie) Chabot, as well her brothers-in-law: Terry (Kim), Jeffrey and Craig Voudren and her sisters-in-law Laurie (Doug) Madigan and Marcia Voudren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her son Ricky, her mother and father; her brothers-in-law: Kenneth, David, and Richard Voudren and her mother and father-in-law Angus and Barbara Voudren.

Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday September 22, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a memorial service at 1:00pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Martin Cline officiating. Burial will take place immediately following in the family lot in St. John’s in the Wilderness Catholic cemetery in Lake Clear, NY.
