Joan C. Villeneuve, 81, of Soucy Rd., Redford, passed away, Friday, October 15, 2010 at her home. Born on January 24, 1929 in New York City, she was the daughter of Edmund and Irene (Turner) McNulty. Joan grew up in New York and attended Hunter College. On January 21, 1950 she married George J. Villeneuve. Together they made their home at 71 Broad St. in Tupper Lake. George passed away on October 17, 1965. Joan was employed in Tupper Lake at the Medical Center. In 1979 she became Postmaster in Redford and relocated there in 1980. Joan retired in 1993. While in Redford, she belonged to the Computer Club, Home Bureau Club and the Senior Citizens of Plattsburgh. She is survived by four daughters; Irene Wood and her husband Rick of Colton, Patricia Villeneuve of Canandaigua, Denise Roberts and her companion Buck North of Tupper Lake, Geraldine Villeneuve of Rochester, six grandchildren, one sister Catherine Keenan of Boynton Beach, FL. Also Surviving is Joan's companion of 35 years Edward Bohin of Redford. She was pre-deceased by her husband, one brother Edmond McNulty and one sister Irene McNulty. The family will receive freinds from 10 -11 a.m. on Monday, October 18 at St. Alphonsus church in Tupper Lake followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider, Hospice of the North Country or the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh.
