Obituary Notice
Ronald VanCour, age 72, formerly of Saranac Lake and currently of 52 Orchard Lane, Jay, NY died Monday, October 27, 2008 at his home in Titusville, Florida.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on July 11, 1936, he was the son of Joseph and Rose (Harmer) VanCour. He married Jacqueline McGill on August 24, 1957 in St. Bernard's Church.
Mr. VanCour had been a life long resident of the area and had been employed for New York State Department of Conservation as a Conservation Operations Supervisor until his retirement in April 1995. He is a past member of the Saranac Lake Elks BPOE 1508 and communicant of St. Bernard's Church.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, one son Kevin VanCour and his wife Nora of Kissimmee, FL, one sister Grace Douglas of Fletcher, NC, one brother Stanley VanCour of Lake Placid, NY, and one granddaughter Rebecca Gagne and her husband Bobby of Gainesville, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and four brothers Ralph, Ernest, Thomas, Edmund, and Bernard VanCour.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday November 1, 2008, with Rev.Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
