Kerri Sue Torres, age 44, of Saranac Lake, a devoted mother of two and loving wife and sister, has passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital after battling pancreatic cancer.
Born in Plattsburgh, New York on March 22, 1977, she was the daughter of Paula Kathleen Raymond.
In addition to caring for her family, Kerri’s greatest achievement was completing a memoir with her sister. She was a non-fiction writer with a gift of poetic descriptions and realistic places, much like her artwork. She loved painting and jewelry making as well as creating home spun recipes for her family. She also worked for many years in the food industry and was employed at the Howard Johnson in Lake Placid for six years. An early high school graduate, SUNY Plattsburgh’s Journalism program was her next academic endeavor. She and husband Frank Torres, II married in Florida and raised their children in the North Country. Her eldest, Adrianna E. Raymond and youngest Francis Torres, III are her pride, joy and legacy. Kerri was an avid hiker, shopper and community fundraiser. She will be deeply missed and remembered in our hearts.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
Friends wishing to remember Kerri Sue Torres may make memorial contributions to Hirshberg Foundation (http://pancreatic.org) in care of the funeral home. Family and friends can also share their condolences and memories at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
