Mary Tanzini

Mary Leona Tanzini, age 90, of The Donaldson Road in Lake Clear, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she had been a resident since 2004.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 16, 1922, she was the daughter of Walter and Maude (Martell) Donaldson. She was married to William Tanzini. He predeceased her on December 31, 1996.

Mrs. Tanzini worked as a seamstress for the Saranac Lake Dress Factory for many years. She later worked for private camps. She enjoyed sewing for her family and gardening.

She is survived by one daughter Carolyn Moody and her husband Mace of Lake Clear and their children Cindy, Penny, Mace III, Randy, and Angela, one daughter-in-law Clemos Tanzini of Saranac Lake and her children Walter and Bonnie, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, one sister Betty Girard and her husband Robert of Lake Clear, one brother-in-law Raymond of DeLand, FL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one son William Tanzini, four sisters Hildred Bomyea, Marguerite Bomyea, Dorothy Wood, and Helen Donaldson and one sister-in-law Shirley McCarthy.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at the Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
