William R. Tanzini, Jr., age 69, of 1510 State Route 86, Saranac Lake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at home.
Born in Lake Clear, New York on July 24, 1942, he was the son of William and Mary Leona (Donaldson) Tanzini, Sr. He married Clemos Pickreign on October 13, 1962 at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake.
William was a self proclaimed “workaholic” and had owned and operated the Tanzini Construction Company for 27 years. He loved, hunting, fishing and trapping and was a past member of the East Branch Hunting Club and a member of the Township 19 Club. He was an avid insulator collector and especially loved garage sales. William was an avid card player and had played pinochle for over 40 years with a group of special friends from Lake Clear.
He is survived by his wife Clemos of Saranac Lake, one son Walter Tanzini of Lake Clear, one daughter Bonnie Laramee and her husband Keith of Lake Clear, his mother Mary Leona Tanzini of Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid, one sister Carolyn Moody and her husband Mace of Lake Clear, NY, five grandchildren, William, Matthew, Hope, Lexie and Marllie. He is also survived by his very dear friend Maria White of Saranac Lake and several brother and sister-in-laws including Joseph and Shirley Pickreigh of Saranac Lake, Edgar and Charlene of Haines City, FL, Kenneth Pickreign of Saranac Lake, Helen and Joseph Chase of Bedford, Indiana, and Donna and Dave Tappan of Scotia, NY, his aunt and uncle Betty and Robert Girard of Lake Clear and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his favorite mechanic Randy Moody and his favorite plumber Tim Moody. He was preceded in death by his father William Tanzini and his father and mother in law Joseph and Lucille Pickreign Sr. of Saranac Lake.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
