Obituary Notice

Gail L. Swinyer, age 50, of 89 Swinyer Road, Vermontville, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at C.V.P.H Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 25, 1959, she was the daughter of Wayne and Bonny (Stitley) McClatchie. She married Douglas Swinyer April 2, 1988 in the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake.

Gail is a life long resident of the Saranac Lake area and graduated from Saranac Lake High School. She had been employed for various area businesses including the Saranac Lake Lanes Bowling Alley, Dagwood’s Pizza Restaurant, Saranac Lake General Hospital and the American Management Association for 15 years. Gail loved bowling, motorcycling with her father and loved to travel to visit her mother in Florida. She especially loved her dogs Toby and Cocoa.

She is survived by her husband Douglas Swinyer of Vermontville, NY, her mother Bonnie McClatchie of Silver Springs, FL, one brother Brian McClatchie and his wife Cooki of Camas, WA, her brother and sister-in-law John and Joyce Swinyer of Vermontville, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne McClatchie.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 PM on Saturday July 18, 2009 at Union Cemetery in Vermontville, with Rev.Maggie McCarey officiating.
