Katherine (Kay) Sorgule passed away on August 10, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born, Katherine Pembroke, in Lockport, New York in 1922 and lived most of her life in Buffalo, New York.
She was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church and a dedicated Republican who worked as office manager for three Erie County Executives: John Tutuska, Ned Regan and Ed Rutkowski. Katherine was a graduate from Buffalo State College (then Buffalo Teachers College).
She moved to Lakeland, Florida after retirement with her husband of 49 years, Earl Sorgule. She lived there for 17 years until her husband’s death. She returned to Lockport and then finally moved to Saranac Lake, New York to be close to her son and his family.
Katherine was pre-deceased by her mother Ellen, father William, two brothers: William and Gene, and her husband Earl. She is survived by her son Paul, his wife Sharon and three grand children: Erika Sorgule of Philadelphia, Jessica Sorgule of Burlington, and Leif Sorgule of Saranac Lake.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Aloysius, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga, New York.
