Margaret MacMichael Snyder passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the AMC Uihlein Center in Lake Placid NY.

Margaret was born September 26, 1923 in Wadsworth, Ohio. She was the daughter of William and Jane Findlay MacMichael. The widow of Roy James Snyder, they had been happily married for 63 years. She is survived by her three children Jane Ann Snyder of Chesapeake, VA, James Russell Snyder and his wife Cecelia of Hackettstown, NJ and Suzanne Snyder-Pereske and her husband Alan of Saranac Lake, NY as well as her granddaughters Jessica Jean Snyder and Lisa Jane Snyder also of N.J. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews and dear friend Lucy Dukett. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jean McCarraher and Jessie Demming and brother Stanley MacMichael.

Margaret was raised in Wadsworth, Ohio and later lived in Chicago and Georgia before settling in Saranac Lake for many years with her husband who taught at SUNY NCCC. Margaret and Jim then spent their retirement years in Virginia. A dedicated wife, mother, and employee, Margaret enjoyed sewing, needlework, her grand-pets, as well as visiting friends and relatives. While living in Saranac Lake, Margaret was active in the First United Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon and was also active with the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

The family will gather to celebrate the lives of Margaret and husband Jim, together, in Wadsworth, Ohio in October.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

Memorial donations may be made to First United Presbyterian Church or the TriLakes Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
