Michael J. Smylis, age 55, of 432 Crocus Lane, Saranac Lake, NY died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Bronx, New York on February 17, 1954, he was the son of Matthew and Dorothy (Bush) Smylis. He married Audrey Cutuli on September 16, 2000 in Lake Clear, New York.
Michael had been a resident of Saranac Lake Since the 1980's and had been employed at Trudeau Institute for many years
He is survived by his wife Audrey Smylis of Saranac Lake, his mother Dorothy Smylis of Saranac Lake, one brother John Smylis of Yonkers, NY; two step daughters Jennifer Lamoureux and her husband Jon of Concord, NH, and Anna Cutuli and Seth Butcher of St. Simons Island, GA, , and six step-grandchildren Hayden, Emily, & Paysen Lamoureux of Concord, NH, and Jarett, Veronica & Gavin Cutuli of Saint Simons Island, GA. He is preceded in death by his father Matthew Smylis.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Sunday February 22, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.
