Shirley Ann Shaw Pickreign

Shirley Ann Shaw Pickreign, age 83 passed away on Friday July, 12, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Saranac Lake under the care of High Peaks Hospice. 

She was born June 30, 1941 to Dada Mae (Hale) and Gerald Albert Shaw in Saranac Lake. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in June 1958.

She married Joseph M. Pickreign, Jr. April 2, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake.

 She was employed by American Management Association for 37 years and Adirondack Health for 14 years, retiring in 2017.

 She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her beloved maternal grandmother, Florence Hartson Hale.

 She is survived by her son, Joseph M. Pickreign III, her daughter Luann Pickreign Farmer and three grandchildren, Marisa (Nate), Cory and Kierstin (Will), her good friend and sister-in-law Clemos Pickreign Tanzini, her favorite niece Jennell “Nelly”(Jason) Heath and all of her friends at the DeChantel Apartments (especially her 11th floor besties Jean and Norma) as well as several nieces snd nephews.

 Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. At Shirley’s request there will be no calling hours. Interment will be at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers she asks that you smile at the next person you meet - it just might brighten their day. Memorial donations can be made to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.
