Albert H. Sexton, age 95, of Swinyer Road, Vermontville, NY died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Betula, Pennsylvania on June 04, 1921, he was the son of James and Edith (Carter) Sexton. Albert married Dorothy Martin on June 6, 1945 in Fort Ord, CA. Dorothy predeceased him in 1995.
Albert had been a resident of Vermontville since 1989. He had been employed at various businesses over the years including: Lake Placid Lodge, Case Cutlery in Buffalo, Benson Mines, OWD in Tupper Lake, Tupper Lake Veneer and Drapers. He is a veteran of the United States Army serving in the pacific theater during World War II. Albert enjoyed fishing, carving and making jewelry.
He is survived by two sons Jon (Erika) Sexton of Saranac Lake and William of Vermontville, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son Jay, one daughter Donna Morhouse, three brothers Quentin, Leonard “Pete”, and William Sexton and four sisters Erma Atherton, Almina Hosmer, Charlotte Holly and Mary Lou Sexton.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
