Theresa Sawyer

Theresa Sawyer, age 73, of Bloomingdale, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on November 04, 1944, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Bisson) D'Aoust. Theresa married L. Bruce Sawyer on July 3, 1976. He predeceased her September 25, 2001.

Theresa was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked at various area businesses including Paul Smiths College and at Will Rogers State Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, was an Adirondack outdoor and wildlife enthusiast and enjoyed playing her Pogo games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her two cats Kylie and Kane. .

She is survived by her four children Lisa (Craig) Smith, Sarah Miner, Keith (Debbie) Miner, and Allan (Irene Barth)Miner, six step children Bruce (Judy) Sawyer, Linda (Ken) Habeck, Mary Ellen (Tim) Rock, Diane (Terry) Bailey, Rosemary Sawyer and Joanne (Chris) Kilner, 13 grandchildren Jennifer Levitt, Tami Donaldson, Tina Donaldson, Amee, Rock, Trevor Rock, Alexandria Sawyer, Justin Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Calvin LeClair, Dianna LeClair, Keith F Miner, Brandon Miner, Kori Kilburn, “BA” Brent Arno, Cayla Kilner, Shannon Kilner, Dakota Kilner, Dylan Kilner and Michael Hyde, many great grandchildren, two sisters Alice Matteson and Mary Vasel and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one step daughter Carol Sawyer and two brothers Joseph and Francis D’Aoust.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at St. John’s Cemetery in Paul Smiths.
