TUPPER LAKE- Daniel Savage, 69 of Tupper Lake, passed away August 7, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Health Center in Burlington after a brief illness with family at his side. Dan was born on November 30, 1942 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of James and Louise (Coutu) Savage. He graduated from Holy Ghost Academy on June 21, 1960. He attended Clarkson College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree. He put his talent to work on many projects in the North Country. In 1965 he joined the Army reserves and had his training at Fort Dix, NJ. After he was finished, he was assigned to the 815th Station Hospital Unit. Dan's great love was for sports especially baseball and golf. He also treasured his dog Checkers. Dan is survived by two brothers; James and his wife Mary Ann of Laconia, NH and Gerald and his wife Shirley of Tupper Lake, also surviving are three nieces; Lisa of Chichester, NH, Mary Ellen Snyder and Maureen Harriman of Tupper Lake, five nephews; Vincent Savage of Laconia, NH, Michael and Christopher of Tupper Lake, John of Cicero and David of St. Petersburg, FL and several great nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper lake. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus church. Memorial donations in Dan's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge in care of the funeral home
