Bernard Sauvie, age 65, of 30 Margaret Street, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Adirondack Medical Center.
Born in Ogdensburg, New York on May 10, 1947, he was the son of John and Clara (Dashnaw) Sauvie. Bernard, married Leona E. Christie on June 8, 1985 in St.Bernard's Church by Rev. C.J. McAvoy.
Bernie is a long time resident of Saranac Lake. He loved to listen to Irish music and loved to do woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Leona Sauvie of Saranac Lake, NY, one brother Roger Sauvie of Buffalo, NY, two sister-in-laws Frances Orne and her husband Don North Prairie, WI, and Sheila Weiner and her husband Lee of Florence, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister his sister Mary Waters and two brothers Floyd "Sonny" and Paul Sauvie.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
