Roger Rohe

Roger A. Rohe, age 57, of Vermontville, NY, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center of Saranac Lake.

Born in Buffalo, New York on September 16, 1951, he was the son of Gerald and Shirley (Osborne) Rohe.

Roger was a resident of Vermontville for many years and had been employed by the Pipe Coverers Union Local 40 in Albany, NY for ten years. He was later self employed as a carpenter in the Vermontville area until 1991 when he became ill. He was a Master Model Builder, winning many trophies. He collected matchbook covers, NASCAR memorabilia,

Olympic pins and grew cactus. Roger was a past member of the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department, the Fifth Quarter Club,was an honorary member of the Redskin Hall of Fame and volunteered at St. Paul's Food Pantry and the Adirondack Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife: the former MaryJo Keith, whom he married July 19, 1975 in St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale, two sons: Scott A. Rohe and his wife Tiffany and Shawn A. Rohe and Jamie Duprey, two grandsons: Connor Padrick Rohe and Piper Addison Rohe all of Saranac Lake, his mother-in-law: MaryEllen Keith of Vermontville, several brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald Rohe, his mother Shirley Osborne Rohe, his sister: Donna Rohe, his brother: Kenneth Rohe, his father-in-law: Patrick Keith and his brother-in-law Chuck Baldwin and his daughter Hope Baldwin.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Bible Vigil will take place at 8PM Sunday followed by a Firemen's Memorial Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale with Father Patrick O'Reilly officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.

Friends wishing to remember Roger may make memorial contributions to Saranac Lake Vol. Fire Dept. Rescue Squad or St. Paul's Food Pantry in care of the funeral home. Family and friends may also share their memories and sign the online guestbook at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
