Robert C. Simpson (Rob) passed away at his home on May 23, 2024 with loved ones at his side. He was born in Saranac Lake on June 19, 1959, he is the son of Marjorie Simpson.
He attended Saranac Lake central school until at the age of eighteen when he enlisted in the United States Army. He served from 1977-1980. Once he returned home he worked in various restaurants in the area as a Sous Chef. It was only a short time until he realized he was meant to do something other than work in the restaurant industry. He found his passion in carpentry. He was a master carpenter retiring from Cascade builders after many years of doing what he loved. He was also known for being one of the best sheet rockers in the area.(He sure rocked those stilts).
Rob was always a hometown boy with a love for hunting, fishing, and camping. Oftentimes sharing stories around a campfire with family and friends. His love for family was immense; he cared deeply for each and every one of them. Rob always found the good in people. If you needed help he offered it. He could walk into a room of strangers and walk out with a few new friends. His heart was big and his love strong. A bond that will never be broken.
Rob is survived by his mother Marjorie Simpson of Saranac Lake, his son Kyle Simpson (Veronica) of Saranac Lake, his granddaughters Kalysa and Veera Simpson. They were the light of his life and brought him so much joy. “Best Papa ever” Sister’s Becky of Maine, Marilyn of Saranac Lake, Tammy (Mark) of Ft. Myers, Shawnee (Chris) of West Palm, Melissa of Saranac Lake, Brother John of Saranac Lake. His Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, as well many Nieces, Nephews, great Nieces and Nephews. He loved each and every one of them like they were his own. He was and always will be our Rob-Boo.
