Raymond Francis “Ray” Riley, age 95, of Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid, NY, died Sunday December 1, 2019 at Elderwood of Uihlein.
Born at the Sisters Farm in Gabriels, NY on June 23, 1924, he was the son of Dennis and Elizabeth (Keegan) Riley. He met the love of his life, Patricia Tyler and they were married on November 14, 1953 in Bloomingdale, NY. Ray and Pat just celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Ray worked on the farm for most of his early years, eventually transitioning to sales and purchasing a truck and a franchise in Bauchman Foods. Ray worked for Bauchman Foods for most of his adult life only retiring a few year ago. Following his retirement, Ray worked at various jobs in Saranac Lake including driving bus for Franklin County where he was forced to retire due to health issues.
Ray’s most important love was that of his family. He was an avid fan of youth baseball and hockey, never missing any of his children’s games. Ray and Pat also loved to travel.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Patricia Riley, his daughter Kelly Riley, two sons Gary (Catherine) Riley of Lakeland, Fl and Greg (Tina) Riley of Constable, NY. Ray is also survived by his brother Howard Riley of Saranac Lake, his twin sister Rita Littlefield of Tupper Lake and his sister Theresa “Tess” (Fred) Gates of Tupper Lake, and his sister-in-law June Riley of Saranac Lake. Ray is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister Marguerite “Maggie” Ellithorpe and his brother Charles “Chick” Riley.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will be held on Saturday December 7, 2019 10:00 to 12:00pm at the Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 12:00pm at the Funeral Home. Burial to immediately follow in St. Bernard’s of Monjoux Parish Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
