Charles "Chic" Riley

Charles “Chic” Edward Riley, age 88, of 1347 Pine Street, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his home.

Born in Gabriels, New York on September 27, 1927, he was the son of Dennis and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Keegan) Riley. Charles, married June M. LaFranchise on June 27, 1959 in Bennington, VT.

Chic worked as a plumber for over 40 years, including venues for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. He was a member of the Saranac Lake Moose Club and past member of the Saranac Lake Elks Club BPOE 1508. He was an avid antique car enthusiast and loved to collect antique cars.

He is survived by his wife June, two sons Thomas Riley, MD of Buffalo, NY and Patrick Riley of Vermontville, three grandchildren Brian, Chace and Brittany Riley, two great grandchildren Mason and Cali Quinn, two brothers Raymond Riley and his wife Patricia of Saranac Lake, and Howard Riley of Saranac Lake, two sisters Rita Littlefield of Tupper Lake, Theresea Gates and husband Fred of Tupper Lake, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons Brian and Stephen Riley, and one sister Marguerite Ellithorpe.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake on Wednesday.
