Alice Eleanor Simons Reandeau, 90, of Tupper Lake passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Mercy Living Center where she had resided for the past six years. Born November 12, 1922 in Wells, NY, she was the daughter of Floyd and Redia (Knapp) Simons. Alice married Alexander Reandeau, Jr. on June 21, 1941. He pre-deceased her on November 19, 1985. Alice was an accomplished musician, having earned her high school regents diploma in music, and later taught private instrumental lessons for more than 50 years. She was church organist at St. Alphonsus Church and United Community Church in Tupper Lake for many years, retiring from service in 2000. She accompanied the Way-Off Broadway Club at Tupper Lake High School for their annual musical productions during the 70’s and 80’s, sharing her talent and love of music. Her flower garden was the envy of many, and she enjoyed hours cultivating the soil, and in later years, sitting in her window watching the weeds grow. Alice is survived by five children: Linda (Jean) Desharnais and Clyde Reandeau of Tupper Lake, Elaine (Roger) Mitchell of Orange, Massachusetts, Sadie (Daniel) Spada and Floyd (Lynn Hovey) Reandeau of Tupper Lake, and daughter-in-law Patricia (Paul) Reandeau of Piercefield. Her surviving grandchildren are Paula Sheldon, Rebecca Wood, Chrystal Billman, Nathan Desharnais, Rafe Spada, and Redia Spada, along with 6 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 44 years, her eldest son, Paul, and her grandson, Chad Mitchell. Two sisters, Evelyn Buyce, Arlene Reese and brothers, Warren and Claude Simons. Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, December 5 from 4 to 7 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Tupper Lake. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church.
