Kay Rassman

Kay Rassman, 67, of Saranac lake passed away suddenly on November 19, 2011 at AMC Hospital.

She was born December 24, 1943 in Foxley, England. Her Mother a war bride, her father serving in the Air Force. Kay, her Mother and Sister came to the US in 1946 aboard the Queen Mary. She grew up in Owatonna, MN.

She married Robert Rassman on October 26, 1963. They were married for 48 years and were blessed with three children. They moved to Sandstone MN for Bob's career and while there Kay was elected to the town council and ran the activities department at the local nursing home. In 1985, they moved to Saranac lake. Kay became an RN and continued to work with the geriatric population. She also worked in Hospice for a number of years.

She was very creative and artistic and loved to draw and paint for personal satisfaction. She enjoyed antiquing, garage sales, camping, fishing, and an occasional trip to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially playing board games on the Holiday's.

She was predeceased by her Mother, Peggy Madison, and her Father Kenneth Scholljegerdes.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert, loving children Shari-lyn Holmlund (Dan), Todd Rassman (Shannon), and Robin Rassman Hendrix. Treasured Grandchildren, Chad, Adam, and Josh Towle, Zachary and Kylee Rassman, Michael and Janel Johnson, and Nevaeh Hendrix. One cherished great grandchild Alexa Towle. Stepfather Jerome Madison, Sister Josephine Snow{Ken) and several nieces and nephews. Also by two very special family friends Matt Williams and AJ Allen. Her pampered pets Fonzy, Bently, Arrow and licorice.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Patrick O’Reilly officiating.
