Martha Primmer

Martha E. Primmer, age 60, of Lake Flower Ave., Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, March 05, 2014 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on September 28, 1953, she was the daughter of Herbert and Jeannette (VanNortwick) Shatraw.

Martha graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1971, gave birth to her only child in 1979. Martha worked for Parnell's Shoe Store, Scheefer's Jewlers and more recently at Adirondack Medical Center. She was a devout member of St. Bernard's Parish. Martha was often seen tending to the flowers in her gardens overlooking her longtime home on Lake Flower where she enjoyed being outdoors in the fresh air, knitting and collecting antiques. Martha will always be remembered for her smile and sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughter Anne Warner of Saranac Lake, long time companion Doug Warner of Saranac Lake, a brother Stephen Shatraw of Saranac Lake, several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her aunt Doris Shatraw of Saranac Lake, and several cousins including Joan and John McGann of Hicksville, NY.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 2PM - 4PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday March 10, 2014 at St. Bernard's Church, with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery in the spring.
