Louise G. Plosila, age 98, formerly of Saranac Lake passed away peacefully on December
27, 2022, at Elderwood in North Creek, where she had resided since August.
Louise was born in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Samuel and Nancy (Luoto) Plosila.
She served in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) during WWII and subsequently earned a
Fine Arts degree from Miami University. She enjoyed a long career in advertising with
the former Griswold company in Cleveland. She was an artist and soon became an
active member of the Paint and Palette Art Association upon moving to Saranac Lake in
retirement.
Louise was predeceased by her brother Dan Plosila and his wife Belva.
She is survived by her nephew Don Plosila of Saratoga, niece Joyce (Scott) Schimele of
Florida, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Louise’s family would like to thank the caring staffs at Adirondack Medical Center, Will
Rogers, and Elderwood at North Creek.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church St.,
Saranac Lake, NY 12983. At Louise’s request, there will be no funeral or calling hours.
