Thelma Patnode

Thelma M. Patnode, age 93, formerly of 60 Church Street, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Mercy Health Care Center in Tupper Lake.

Born in Churubusco, New York on June 11, 1924, she was the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Vancour) Patnode. Thelma, married Leo Alexander Patnode on January 14, 1946 in Churubusco, NY. Leo predeceased her on April 7, 1966.

Mrs. Patnode was a resident of Saranac Lake since 1980 coming from Lake Placid, NY where she was employed in the Housekeeping Dept. at the Mirror Lake Inn and Lake Placid Club for many years. She also worked at the Saranac Inn in the mid 1940's. She is a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Bernard, St. Bernard's Altar Rosary Society and past member of L.I.F.T. widows support organization.

She is survived by one sister Beverly (Jerry) Russotto of Gansevoort, one brother Warren Patnode of Rochester and several nieces and nephews including Paul Patnode of Saranac Lake. She was preceded in death by two sisters Edith Perry and Alma Cook, and one brother Donald Patnode.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 AM on Friday November 3, 2017 at St. Bernard Church in Saranac Lake. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
