Alfred C. Parker Jr., age 71, of 29 James Way, Bloomingdale, NY, died Saturday, June 20, 2015.
Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on January 22, 1944, he was the son of Alfred C. and Gertrude (Shelhamer) Parker Sr. Alfred, married Jean Seney Vaughn on July 30, 1983 at their home in Bloomingdale.
Fred was employed as a carpenter and contractor for 45 years. For 21 years he has been a member of Local 1042 Carpenters Union and was self-employed for several years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed boating, four wheeling and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife Jean Parker of Bloomingdale, two daughters Brenda Hinterscher of Xzenia, IL and Chris Brassard of Bradenton, FL, 6 grandchildren Christie, Sierra, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob and Jimmy, 4 step children Ardian Vaughn, Dale Vaughn, Monte Vaughn and Jean Vaughn all of Saranac Lake, 12 step-grandchildren and two sisters Martha Morris of Chatham and Carol Moulton of Laconia, New Hampshire. He was preceded in death by one brother John J. Parker.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Wednesday June 24, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
