Ruth Parent

RUTH PARENT, 81, of Tupper Lake, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at AMC Mercy Center where she had resided since February, 2006. Born December 24, 1928 in Tupper Lake, she was the only child of Leon and Levina (Luman) Pickering. Ruth a lifelong resident of Tupper Lake attended local schools and married Hubert Parent on August 25, 1947. They were married for 26 years. For many years, she was employed as a cashier and bookkeeper at the A&P. She also worked as a nutrition aide for Franklin County and ARC and at local stores, The Army Store, J.J. NewBerry and Ames. Ruth is survived by her son Richard and his wife Monica of Tupper Lake, a granddaughter Kate of Long Lake and a grandson Joe of Milwaukee, WS. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 15th, from 4 to 5 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 5pm at the funeral home.
