On Saturday, September 26, 2015, with her son by her side, Marie Vivian Pandolph was reunited with her loved and missed husband, Chuck. Born in Saranac Lake, NY on November 25, 1926, she was the daughter of Ethan and Gladys (Moody) Niles.
Marie spent her childhood days around Moody Pond, enjoying the unique youth of Adirondack life. She had a great deal of pride for her hometown, often boasting that her adored grandfather, Robert, was a direct descendent of a Saranac Lake founding father, Jacob Moody.
She married Charles William Pandolph II, on May 3, 1947. They had one son, Charles Robert. An amazing wife and mother; always gracious, loyal, and strong, Marie was the rock of the family. She joined the catholic faith, eventually becoming a Catholic Daughter. Her retirement from a fastidious career with Niagara Mohawk found her embracing volunteer work at the Saranac Lake Free Library and Saranac Lake General Hospital.
Extremely intelligent, Marie spoke her mind with a sense of humor, hint of sarcasm and a friendly smile. She loved watching a good game of hockey or a late night show. She had an amazing love of reading and even enjoyed poetry, but her greatest pleasure was found in the company of her family. She showed immense pride and gratitude for her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great grand-pug, Edgar. Marie loved to hear her great grandsons play guitar and piano, and would often opine, “I know how lucky I am. I have a son who takes such good care of me, talented and beautiful grandchildren, and great grandchildren that are all so smart!” Her life remained simple, taking pleasure in the people; not the things that surrounded her. She was kind to all living things, ever-appreciating the natural beauty of her Adirondack home. Always loyal to her family and God, Marie lived with integrity and kindness, praying for those in need and always for the health and safety of her family.
Marie Pandolph was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband. She is survived by her son, Charles Robert Pandolph; two grandchildren: Corey Pandolph and his wife Kristen (MacIntire) Pandolph, Kara (Pandolph) Munn and her husband Bryan “Buddha” Munn; and four great grandchildren: Madelynn, Benjamin, Nicholas and Brayden Munn.
