Dorothy Agnes Ormsby, age 61, of Saranac Lake, NY died Saturday October 2, 2021 after a lengthy illness at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Dorothy was born in Saranac Lake, NY on January 29, 1960 the daughter of Raymond and Joan (Martin) Ormsby.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and worked for the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake in the distribution and materials managements department. She retired in 2017 after 35 years of service to the medical center. She loved her family, enjoyed playing BINGO and always looked forward to her annual trips to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for NASCAR races and to Old Orchard Beach, Maine for time at the ocean.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Cecilia (Shad) Hunt of Saranac Lake, NY her two grandsons: Ayden and Quynn Hunt of Saranac Lake, NY, her aunt Betty Martin, her two sisters: Jeannie Roberts and Bobbi Jo Thompson and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her partner in life John Helmer, her father and mother, her four sisters: Cheryl Tucker, Crystal Wells, Penny Yelle and Hanky Muncil, and her niece Joannie Corrow.
Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. At Dorothy’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday October 23, 2021 at 3:00pm at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in the family lot.
