Chad Oliver, age 39, of Bloomingdale, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on August 18, 1982, he was the son of Roger and Valerie (Columbe) Oliver.
Chad was currently employed at Adirondack Correctional Facility in Ray Brook. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time hunting and at camp especially with his friend, Rick. Chad also enjoyed camping and spending time with his camp family and riding his ATV.
He is survived by his companion Rebecca Waldron of Bloomingdale, his mother Valerie Oliver of Bloomingdale, one brother Ryan and his wife Meg Oliver of Bloomingdale and his paternal grandparents Donald and Cynthia Oliver of Franklin Falls. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles including Vanessa Columbe, Vi Snickles, Vickie and Jim Strack, Vivian and Richard Charland, Nancy and Sheridan Swinyer, Sharalon and Bob Snickles, Cindy and Don Amell, Robin Shanty, Judy and Tim Heath, Kim and Kevin Woodruff and several cousins. Chad was preceded in death by his father Roger Oliver and his maternal grandparents Marion and Gaylord Columbe. He is also survived by their beloved dogs Louie, Scout, Callie, Ella, Skylar, and Bear.
Calling hours are set to take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday December 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service is set to take place on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale, with Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
