Lucien Myers Sr

Lucien B. Myers Sr., 88, of Vermontville, formerly of Warwick, NY, entered into eternal rest Tuesday April 4, 2017 peacefully at home.

Lou was born in Goshen, NY on September 13, 1928, the son of Randolph and Florence Galloway Myers.

He graduated from Warwick High School. Before retiring to Vermontville he was the owner of “Lou Myer’s Plumbing and Heating”, member of Excelsior Fire Co., Warwick Methodist Church and choir, and the Odd Fellow Lodge. He also enjoyed camping, bowling, baseball and softball.

Lou retired and sold his business in the early 80’s and found a new home in Vermontville, where he bought a nice 200 acre farm. There he spent time working in the woods, whether he was cutting fire wood for heat in the winter or cutting logs to mill in his saw mill. He loved to work. Lou for a time operated and owned Cold Brook Fish Farm where he raised Rainbow trout. Lou also enjoyed singing with Adirondack Singers in Saranac Lake, and got to sing with Kenny Rogers at the Center of the Arts in Lake Placid.

Lucien was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Doris Laroe Myers, his son Lucien B Myers Jr. and his brother Andrew Myers.

Lucien is survived by his brother Frank Myers and his wife Dorothy and their daughter Madeline Haller, daughters: Pamela Berry and her husband Stephen, Patricia Batista and her husband Jose, Peggy Neill and her husband Charles, Joanne Diermeier and her husband Fritz, nine grandchildren: Krista Berry, Ortega and her husband Javier, Justin Berry and his wife Eliza, Eric Beattie and his wife Anna, Carrie Neill and her fiancé Shawn Whitemire, Kyle Letson, Shannon Letson Manning and her husband Phil, Brenden Myers and his girlfriend Dayna Roberts, Brett and Hal Diermeier, as well as three great grandchildren: Fern & Finn Beattie, and Eva Berry. He is also survived by his wonderful family friends Jeff Letson and his wife Jessica Deeb, Becky and Terry Cook, John Alfano, Frank Suda and Dave Voudren.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours and a memorial service by the family will be planned for a later date. The family has asked to not send flowers, However, donations may be made in Luciens name to the Saranac Lake Meals on Wheels in care of the funeral home.
