David H, Munn, age 78, of 60 Church Street, Saranac Lake, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 16, 1933, he was the son of William and Beatrice (Hannon) Munn. David married Helen Morgan on May 11, 1957 in St. Bernard's Church. She predeceased him November 10, 2010.
Dave had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise from 1960 until his retirement in 2008. He is a member of the Saranac Elks Club BPOE 1508. Dave was an avid sports fan and had coached Little League Baseball for 10 years. He was a dedicated Saranac Lake "Redskin"/ Red Storm fan and avid NY Giants fan. He also served on the Dechantel Apartments Board of Directors.
He is survived by his 8 children David Munn and his wife Anne, Kathleen Dann and her husband Bill, Debbie Lichtenwalter and her fiancé Brian Carey, Timothy Munn and his wife Amy, Kyle Munn and his companion Tammy Rocque, Kevin Munn, and Kerry Munn all of Saranac Lake, and Paula Cook of Albany, NY, 14 grandchildren Sean Lichtenwalter, Morgan Wallace, Kellen Munn, Nathalie Munn, Rita Munn, Raymond Amell, Josh Dann, Vanessa Pagan, Christina Smallets, Aaron Smallets, Ryan Smallets, Adam Trim, Anthony and Caitlin Cook, 7 great grandchildren Sydney, Addison and Quinlin Dann, Connor, Riley and Sophia Pagan, and Catherine Bannon, two sisters Peggy DeVit, and Janet Debbie and her husband Jack all of Saranac Lake, NY, brother-in-law Dew Drop Morgan of Saranac Lake, one sister-in-law Jean McDonough and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one daughter Michelle Marie Munn.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. An Elks Service will take place Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 Noon on Friday August 31, 2012 at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
