Ronald P. Moses, of Slater Ave. Saranac Lake, formerly of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the age of 77.
Born in Elmira, New York on January 14, 1935, he was the son of Clayton and Helen (Scott) Moses.
Ronald had been employed by the New York State Department of Corrections working at various correctional facilities including Adirondack Correctional Facility in Ray Brook and Camp Georgetown Correctional Facility in Georgetown, NY. Ronald retired from the New York State Department of Corrections after 38 years of faithful service as a Superintendent. Ron was a past member of the Elks Club in Horsehead, Elmira and Albany, NY. He was an avid golfer who will be sorely missed on the links at Saranac Lake Golf Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Phyllis (Maines) Moses, his sisters, Shirley Maines and Stephanie Kay. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Martello of Horseheads, his best friend and companion of 29 years, Patricia Coventry of Saranac Lake; his dear children, Joseph C. (Tammy) Moses of Murphy, TX. Paul E. (April) Moses of Semora, NC, Ret. MSgt, USMC Michael T. (Riza) Moses of Stafford, VA, and Roni Lynn (John) Diacatos of New Bern, NC; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Forest Lawn cemetery, Elmira, NY.
