Mary Elizabeth Mose, age 86, of Paul Smiths, NY died Sunday, September 09, 2012 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, NY.

Born in Fort Covington, New York on November 12, 1925, she was the daughter of Simon and Elizabeth (McKillop) Smith.

Mary owned and operated the Red Mill Restaurant in Paul Smiths for 25 years. Prior to that she had attended St. Joseph's School where she received her LPN degree. After receiving her degree she worked for Massena Memorial Hospital. Mary was a member of the Saranac Lake V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and Church of the Assumption in Gabriels.

She is survived by one daughter Kelly Grimm of Dickinson Center, NY and one son Gregory Mose of Paul Smiths, NY, two brothers Francis Smith of Rochester, NY, and M. Emmet Edgar Smith of Syracuse and one sister Sr. Mary Ellen (Anna) Smith of New Rochelle, NY, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and two brothers Simon and Alton Smith.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A VFW Ladies Auxiliary service will take place at 4:45 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday September 13, 2012 at Church of the Assumption in Gabriels. Burial will take place at Mt. View Cemetery Gabriels. A reception will follow at the home of Margaret Pierce, 216 State Route 86, Paul Smith, NY.
