TUPPER LAKE- Armonia G. Morris, 88, of Tupper Lake died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the AMC Mercy Center where she had resided since 2006. Born on September 12, 1920 in Cabano, Quebec, she was the daughter of Ulric and Mary Louise (Bastille) Guerette. On June 7, 1947, she married Paul Guerette. They raised there family in Cabano and moved to Chestertown, NY in 1959. They lived for a time in Ashland, Me. and then relocated to Tupper Lake where Mr. Guerette was a sawfiler for Elliott Lumber. He died in 1972. In 1987 she married John Morris who pre-deceased her in 1991. Mrs. Morris worked at Major Rod and later in the laundry dept. at Mercy Hospital. A devoted mother, she enjoyed knitting, socializing with the seniors at the Adirondack Adult Center, playing bingo and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She is survived by two daughters; Louise Smith and her husband Dana of Waddington, Francine Smith and her husband Phil of Tupper Lake, one son Denis Guerette of Tupper Lake, eight grandchildren; Tonya Haslop and her husband David of Tampa, Todd Smith of Syracuse, Tricia Purner of Vancouver, Wa., Jason Guerette of Tupper Lake, Matthew Demars of Saranac Lake, Michael Demars of Chicago, Lori Ann Guerette and Broyce Guerette both of Tupper Lake. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husbands, three brothers and one sister. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 10th from 10 - 11:00 a.m. at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Tupper Lake. A mass of christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus church with Rev. Kris Lauzon officiating burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
