Monroe Hewitt Moody, age 82, of Brasher Falls, NY, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Van Duyrn Center in Syracuse, NY.

Born in Lake Placid, New York on November 18, 1935, he was the son of Monroe and Eva (Pelky) Moody.

Monroe had lived his most recent years in Syracuse, NY. He was known for his carpentry skills and was a member of the Carpenters Union local 291 in Plattsburgh, NY. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Monroe was also an avid Nascar fan.

He is survived by his companion “Cissy” St. Hilaire of Moira, NY, three sons: Richard and Dennis of Brasher Falls, NY and Monroe of South Carolina, three daughters: Gina of Saranac Lake, Debbie of Canada, and Veronica Ellithorpe of Saranac Lake. Monroe is also survived by many grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one sister Laura Favro.

Funeral arrangements are in Care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
