Margaret (Meg) O’Grady Miller, 87 of Lake Clear New York passed away on May 29, 2019 surrounded by family at the home of her daughter, Valerie Miner, (North Bennington, VT).
Born November 28, 1931 in Rochester NY was the daughter of Patrick and Brigid O’Grady of Batavia, NY.
Meg is predeceased by her husband Rich of 60 years and her son Thomas Richard Miller of Haiku HI.
Surviving family members include her brother Jerome O’Grady (Mary), sister in law Georgi (Miller) Garrison and sister in law Barbara Miller (brother in law, Ron Miller); children Lynne Littlefield (Danny) of Sodus, NY, Valerie Miner (David) of North Bennington VT, Dan Miller (Barbara) of Williamsport PA, and step sons Richard Reed (Shelley) and Ronald Reed {deceased} (Donna); and 13 grandchildren Jamie (Littlefield) Hargarther, Jeremy Littlefield, Zeb Miner, Miriah (Miner) Downing, Myles Miller, Drew Miller, Haley Miller, Valaree Lynn Gomes-Miller, Zeke Miller and step grandchildren Tim Reed, Eric Reed, Adam Reed, and Lauren Reed and, 9 great grandchildren Daniel Littlefield, Kendall Littlefield, Kinlee Hargarther, Eli Miner, Brodie Miner, Jack Miner, Kamaehu Gomes-Miller, Zevan Downing and step granddaughter Emma Reed.
Meg and Rich moved to Lake Clear in 1990 after residing in Sodus NY for 38 years. Meg loved the Adirondacks; paddling, hiking and camping with her beloved husband Rich.
A graduate of Genesee Hospital School of Nursing, Meg was a committed health care provider serving as an ER nurse, Teacher (Nursing) and surrogate advocate for individuals with special needs. Meg served many years as a nurse at Myers Community Hospital (Sodus, NY) and a teacher at BOCES, Wayne County, NY, before her retirement in 1994.
Calling hours will take place at St. John in the Wilderness (Lake Clear, NY) on June 6, 2019 from 11:00am to noon. A Catholic Funeral mass will immediately follow, with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will follow the mass at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Saranac Lake, NY.
