Charles Meisenheimer

Charles W. Meisenheimer, 85, of 102 Clark Wardner Road, Rainbow Lake, Brighton, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid, NY.

Born in Loudonville, Ohio on October 13, 1924, he was the son of P. Walter and Freda (Neuhart) Meisenheimer. He married Carol Vigrass who predeceased him on October 10, 1993.

Mr. Meisenheimer had been a resident of the area since the early 1980's coming from Newfane, NY. He was active in the area as a lay minister and served on the Presbytery. Prior to moving to Rainbow Lake, he worked as a school principal at both Lake Shore and Lockport, New York public schools Mr. Meisenheimer was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II as a bombardier in the 765th Bombardier Liber-raiders and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He is survived by his daughter, Jill H.Weller of New Port Richey, Florida, grandson Trent W. Weller of Gainesville, Florida, granddaughter Pamela C. Weller of Conesus, New York, and great-grandchildren Briana and Patryk. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his father, mother and brother, Earl.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake, NY. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Mt. View Cemetery in Gabriels, NY.
