Timothy T. “Timmy Moe” McNamara, age 61, of 163 Park Ave., Saranac Lake, died Friday, March 09, 2012 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 15, 1951, he was the son of Bruce and Kathleen (Burkett) McNamara. He married Ernestine Brown on August 31, 1974.
Tim was in the Navy as a Radio Mechanic from April 1969 to April 1972. Tim worked on the reconstruction of the natural gas line in Texas where he met and married Ernestine. Tim came back home in 1991 and worked as a painter for many years painting a lot of homes in Saranac Lake. Tim was a member of the Saranac Lake American Legion Post 447, was an accomplished guitar player and especially enjoyed playing pool at the Waterhole 3 inn Saranac Lake.
He is survived by his wife Ernestine of Saranac Lake, NY, two sons Ivan McNamara and his wife Jean of Saranac Lake, NY, and Cody McNamara of Saranac Lake, NY, one daughter Chantell McNamara of Saranac Lake, NY, two brothers Bruce McNamara of Hallandale, FL and Mike McNamara of Tupper Lake, NY, three sisters Kathleen McNamara of Liverpool, NY, Patricia Luvera of Albany, and Mary Beth Garland of Liverpool, NY, two grandchildren Zoe and Ian McNamara of Saranac Lake, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one sister Sue.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours but all are welcome to join family for a celebration of Tim's life on Saturday March 17th from 4-8pm upstairs at the Waterhole. There will be drinks, refreshments and music.
