Paul Mcgivney

Paul Joseph McGivney, age 66, of Rainbow Lake, NY, died Monday, September 01, 2014 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Plattsburgh, New York on January 17, 1948, he was the son of Howard and Claire (Downs) McGivney. Paul married Shirleen Smith. She predeceased him on August 30, 2003.

Paul had been employed as a computer coordinator for the New York State Department of Education in Albany, NY until his retirement. Paul moved to Rainbow Lake in 2004 coming from Kinderhook, New York. He was a member of Church of the Assumption in Gabriels. Paul especially enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by one son Conor McGivney of Rensselaer, NY, one brother Douglas McGivney of Kinderhook, NY, one grandson Keaton McGivney of Rensselaer, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers Richard and Eugene McGivney and one sister Jane McGivney.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday September 5, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM the funeral home. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 6, 2014 at the St. John The Baptist Cemetery in Kinderhook, NY.
