Joseph F. McGeechan, age 88, of 944 McKenzie Pond Road, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Adirondack Medical Center.
Born in New York, New York on June 10, 1923, he was the son of Neal and Cecilia (Frost) McGeechan.
Mr. McGeechan is a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II as a Sergeant and tank commander. Mr. McGeechan had been a resident of Saranac Lake for the past 25 years coming from Westchester County where he had worked as a master tinsmith for Suburban Roofing. Prior to moving to Saranac Lake Mr. McGeechan had spent many summers at their families state platform camp on Lower Saranac Lake.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
