Jean L. McCann, age 84, of Vermontville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh where she had been a resident since 2016 under their care for the last 7 years for Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on January 23, 1938, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wojcik. Jean married Brendan McCann on Saturday, June 7, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York.
Jean had been a resident of Vermontville since 2000, coming from Fresh Meadows, NY where she had worked as a legal secretary for Epstein, Becker and Greene. Jean was a faithful member of St. Bernard’s Church parish and a member of the Over 55 Club in Vermontville for many years.
She is survived by her husband Brendan McCann of Vermontville one daughter Andrea Swinyer of Bloomingdale and three grandchildren Trevor Swinyer, Bret Bruso, and Albert Bruso. She was predeceased by two sons Brendan and Joseph McCann; four brothers John, Henry, Theodore and Otto Wojick and one sister Lillian Wrublewski.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday May 9, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow on Monday at 1:30 PM at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery in Fresh Meadows, NY.
