Marjorie Ann Howard

Marjorie Ann Howard, age 86, of Saranac Lake, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Elderwood of Uihlein in Lake Placid. 

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on April 12, 1938, she was the daughter of James Francis and Marion (Morrison) McNicholas. 

Marge married the love of her life, Ralph “Pat” Howard on September 28, 1957, in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on March 2, 2017. 

Marge was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake where she attended and graduated from Saranac Lake high school. She was an amazing cook, a faithful member of the St. Bernard’s parish and volunteered with the catholic daughters as well as many other organizations throughout her life. 

Marge’s true joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. A perfect weekend afternoon for Marge would be spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless cousins and friends at regular family gatherings. 

She is survived by her four children, James and Stephanie Howard, Patti and Clay Sauvie, Amy and Leigh Wenske and Michael and Mary Kate Howard, 10 grandchildren, Corey Howard, Justin Howard, Krysta (Sauvie) Fudger, Kassie (Sauvie) Romeyn, Nicholas Sauvie, Vanessa Badlam, Colin Howard, Blake Howard, Robert and Taylor Wenske and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Patricia Lewis of Saranac Lake as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday August 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the Catholic Daughters doing a brief prayer service at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 3, 2024, at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
