Steven A. Manning born in Tupper Lake, NY to Loretta (Olive Boyer) Manning and Joseph (Peko) Manning Oct. 26, 1949 passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 2, 2011 after a long illness. Steve was raised in Tupper Lake leaving to serve in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971 as a medic in Korea and Vietnam and worked as a lab technician at Womack Army Hospital ,Ft. Bragg and Cape Fear Hospital in North Carolina until honorably discharged as a Sgt. E-5. Steve and Sharon married in 1972 and raised their four children in Syracuse, NY. Steve was employed by the Fisher Guide Plant of General Motor Corp. in Syracuse and retired from their Delphi Division after 32 years as a Supervisor for the Adrian, Michigan Plant and returned to Tupper Lake in 2002. He worked as a grounds keeper for the Tupper Lake Country Club and was a life member of the VFW Post 3120 in Tupper Lake.
Steve is also survived by daughters: Christine and Colleen and sons: Michael and Sean and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held August 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Tupper Lake, NY. A reception immediately following will be held at the VFW Post 3120 Park Street. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to: High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Lake Colby Dr. Saranac Lake, NY. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
