Floyd H. Mace, age 83, of 675 County Route 18, Lake Clear, NY, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on May 06, 1928, he was the son of Henry and Cora (Donaldson) Mace. He married Patricia M. Mero on September 27, 1947.
Floyd had been a life-long resident of Saranac Lake. He owned and operated Floyd's Atlantic in Saranac Lake for several years. He later bought Adirondack Tire from Earl Kerr in 1969 which he operated until his son Greg took over the business.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Patricia, two sons Gregory Mace and his wife Amy of Lake Clear, NY and Jeffrey Mace and his wife KC of Chazy, NY, two daughters Sharon Godfrey and her husband Walter of Cadyville, NY, and Kathleen Colwell of Gloversville, NY, three brothers Paul Mace of Lake Clear, NY, Thomas Mace of Lake Clear, NY, and David Mace of Tupper Lake, NY, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother Lawrence Mace.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours and funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in AuSable Forks.
