Thomas G. Lintner, age 83, formerly of Lake Clear, NY and currently of 60 Church Street, Saranac Lake, died Friday, May 04, 2012 at C.V.P.H Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Born in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts on November 20, 1928, he was the son of Thomas and Mildred (Quilliam) Lintner.
Mr. Lintner is a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater (Korea). After military service he was employed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Veteran Administration Hospital and by the New York State D.D.SO. at Sunmount in Tupper Lake for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Lintner was a life long sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been a member of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club since the late 1950's and had served as membership secretary and president. He had also served as a delegate to and president of the Franklin County Federation of Fish and Game Clubs. He was an avid stamp collector and belonged to the Plattsburgh Stamp Club and to the Golden Triangle Stamp Club of Mt. Dora, Florida. He was a member of the Adirondack Museum and the Franklin County Historical Society. He enjoyed reading and talking about Adirondack History, and had an extensive library of Adirondack literature. He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Corporal.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude Lintner Saranac Lake, NY, one son Robert Lintner and his wife Jill of Vermontville, NY, two daughters Sharon Hosler and her husband Gifford of Saranac Lake, NY and Michele Lintner of Lake Clear, NY, three brothers Gary Lintner of North Bangor, NY, Roger Lintner of CT. and Carl Lintner of Florida, and one sister Gloria Kelly of Rochester, NY, two grandchildren Scott and Janet and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers Darrell and Donald Lintner.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
